I have personally always found this classic talk by Simon Sinek deeply thought-provoking:

This video is an invitation to ponder over the power of 'why'. The alignment of that core 'why' with vision and subsequently, purpose within the self is a truly meaningful and exceedingly rare phenomenon. When the articulation of this deep 'why' echoes and resonates with other individuals in the wider community: the organizational synergy and commitment generated this way can possibly be uniquely gratifying and propelling. This is the beauty of a clear and genuine 'purpose'- the ability to bring together people from diverse walks of life and unite them in the singular and passionate pursuit of something greater, deeper and more eternal than any processes, systems or action items. This is not to suggest that processes & systems or their implementation do not matter, but 'why'- the very purpose- rather opens up the possibility of a larger purpose that guides these transcendentally- that makes these click in place with relative ease.
